Ba Gua Zhang
The most physically demanding of the internal martial arts Ba Gua Zhang uses complex footwork, fluid body movements and powerful palm strikes to manifest the energy of change which can be used equally for martial arts, healing and meditation. Ba Gua is difficult to learn and is recommended for people without serious injury and who preferably have a background in martial arts, sports, or dance.
The WTIA Ba Gua curriculum consists of Ba Gua's circle walking practice - the core of all Ba Gua Zhang, mother palms (static postures) and the single, double, and smooth palm changes. Further palm changes are only taught after the core material is solid. Contained within this framework are Ba Gua's meditative, martial and healing aspects. Click Here for our lineage.
